Psychiatric Nurses
- Extensive experience of XX years inassessing and planning nursing care requirements; combating stigma and helping patients and their families deal with it; administering medication; agreeing and reviewing care plans and monitoring progress; giving advice and arranging support for patients, relatives and carers
- Skilled in writing and updating patient records; encouraging patients to take part in therapeutic activities such as art and roleplay; conducting intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather casehistory; makingnursing diagnosis of the medical and emotional status of patients and recommends treatment options
- Assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff and patients; testing for vital signs of pain and ensures treatments of pain; maintainingaccurate records and documentation of patient treatments, immunizations andlaboratory results according tostandard medical recordkeeping
- Excellent observational skills to assess patients and look out for signs of tension or anxiety; excellent communication skills for dealing with patients and their families; ability to stay calm and think quickly in challenging circumstances; capability to helpothers overcome social stigma related to mental health
