GEOGRAPHER
- A PROFICIENT GEOGRAPHER possesses expertise in studying the nature and use of areas of the Earth's surface, relating and interpreting interactions of physical and cultural phenomena; conducting research on physical aspects of a region, including landforms, climates, soils, plants, and animals
- Extensive experience of XX years in conducting research on the spatial implications of human activities within a given area, including social characteristics, economic activities, and political organization, as well as researching interdependence between regions at scales ranging from local to global
- Skilled in experimenting and collecting information and bringing together maps on type of weather, plant life, and soils; preparing GISs including coding, geographic record improvement management, and applications; planning, creating, and executing local and worldwide development support projects
- Adept in gathering geographic data through field observations, maps, photographs, satellite imagery, and censuses; use quantitative methods, such as statistical analysis, in research; using qualitative methods, such as surveys, interviews, and focus groups, in research
- Instrumental in analyzing the geographic distribution of physical and cultural characteristics and occurrences; using geographic information systems (GIS) to collect, analyze, and display geographic data
- Adroit in establishing procedures and systems for assessing the effectiveness of geographic programs and/or management processes; analyzing management information requirements for geographic programs or operations
